Emergency Solutions Grant Program

The Emergency Solutions Grant program in West Virginia is administered through the Development Office by an appropriation from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

Benefits of ESG Program

The ESG program provides homeless persons with basic shelter and essential supportive services as well as homelessness prevention and rapid re-housing. It can assist with the operational costs of the shelter facility, rental assistance for those facing imminent homelessness, re-housing those who are already experiencing homelessness, and the administration of the grant.

Eligible Applicants for ESG Grants

Those eligible for ESG funding are nonprofit organizations, that currently provide, or plan to provide, shelter and services for homeless individuals or families in West Virginia. This includes domestic violence shelters.
