*Under DOE guidelines, customers are automatically eligible to receive weatherization assistance if they receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF).
After your application is received, a service provider from your area will contact you to confirm demographic information. Once you are determined to be eligible, you will be added to a waiting list. Then, the service provider will conduct an energy audit of your entire home. (measure the home, windows, doors, etc. checking insulation levels, etc. measures ventilation and ductwork) This process can take between one and two hours. After the audit, you will be scheduled for a local crew to begin work on your home, which can take three to seven days to complete. After it’s complete, a Quality Control Inspector from the service provider will conduct an inspection and walkthrough to ensure all steps were taken appropriately.
