Design Assistance
West Virginia Main Street contracts with a Historic Preservation Consultant to work on design projects for property owners located within the Main Street District. The goal of the design consultant is to provide both on site and off site assistance to the local program in developing or promoting historically accurate design guidelines or ordinances, historic preservation ordinances, nominations for the National Register of Historic Places, and other issues relating to design in the Main Street program area. Typical projects include recommendations for façade rehabilitation, in fill design, and ordinance review. This service is available to all Main Street and OnTRACs within our program.
West Virginia Main Street contracts with a historic preservation specialist to provide design assistance for property owners within Main Street and OnTRAC Districts. The projects can in scope from landscape design to façade rehabilitation plans. The design assistance can also include working with municipalities on their historic preservation ordinances and design review process. An application must be submitted and approved prior to the scheduling of a site visit.
