The Compliance Unit is a supportive structure for the other units, and the programs and staff within. The unit is an independent oversight component of the Division. Primarily, the unit ensures all programs meet grant compliance and monitoring requirements through coordination and execution of various desktop and on-site review functions.
The unit supports staff in their grant management functions in relationship to compliance, including interpretation of regulations and fulfillment of grant requirements, improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the grants and the grant managers. The unit assists the Division with internal controls and quality assurance. The unit provides the systems and functions to avoid when possible, but identify and act when necessary in situations of noncompliance or disallowed costs including waste, fraud, and abuse of funds by any sub-recipients of Division grants.
